Having established himself as one of Singapore’s finest young defenders across two separate spells at Hougang United, Lionel is hungry to take his game to the next level as he joins the Sailors in 2023.

He returns to Bishan Stadium seven years after making his professional debut for Home United – the previous iteration of the Sailors’ – in a League Cup fixture against Albirex Niigata (S) and is looking to be a rock at the heart of the Sailors’ defence. Having represented Singapore at various age-group levels and captained the nation’s Under-22s on several occasions, the 1.84m tall Lionel is targeting a Lions call-up in the near future.
