Chun-Liang

Having spent 23 years as a Naval Officer with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Chew Chun-Liang was always going to be a good fit for the Lion City Sailors. Appointed Chief Executive of the Sailors in 2021, Chun-Liang has been tasked to enhance the management and operations of the club, building out the systems and structure in line with the Sailors’ vision of representing excellence on and off the pitch. More than that, however, he also wants to engage the local football fraternity and the wider Singapore public, with the aim of sparking pride in local football.

Robin

As the Head of Youth Development at the Lion City Sailors, Robin Chitrakar’s main role is to help the club’s brightest young talents grow into the top stars of tomorrow. A former National Team player, Robin has more than 10 years of experience working with youth footballers, and has helped bring through some of Singapore’s best players – including the likes of Faris Ramli and Gabriel Quak – over the last decade. Robin, who has an AFC Professional Coaching Diploma under his belt, is a well-respected figure within the club, and was entrusted to lead the Sailors as interim Head Coach following the departure of Aurelio Vidmar at the end of April 2021.

Chua

As the Lion City Sailors’ goalkeeper coach, Lye Heng is focused on ensuring that our custodians are always well-prepared to protect our goal. Lye Heng himself was a goalkeeper during his youth, before venturing into the sport of sepak takraw, where he made a name for himself as a successful school coach. The former Singapore national team goalkeeper coach possesses a Goalkeeping Level 3 coaching licence from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) – the highest level of certification available from the organisation.

Badri

The main man spearheading the Lion City Sailors at an executive level, Badri Ghent has already set several firsts in the local game despite his relative youth. This includes being the youngest-ever Team Manager, and later, General Manager, of a professional football club in Singapore, when he was appointed to the two roles at Home United in 2014 and 2017 respectively. Badri, who was instrumental in the privatisation of the Sailors, now oversees the direction of the club – and he’s determined to bring us to the very top.

Zahir

Lion City Sailors Logistics Officer Zahir Taufeek plays a vital role in making sure that our players and staff are always well-equipped for both training and matches. Previously the kitman for the Young Lions and the Singapore National Team, Zahir joined Home United in 2011, and has since established himself as an essential member of our backroom staff.

Shazaly

In his role as the Lion City Sailors’ Sports Performance Coach, Shazaly Ayob is in charge of ensuring that our players always remain in tip-top shape. The experienced fitness trainer, who previously worked with the likes of Warriors FC and the Football Association of Singapore, prides himself as a tough taskmaster who will have no qualms in pushing his players to their limits in a bid to get their fitness to a world class level.

Adi

A former professional goalkeeper who turned out for the likes of Home United, SAFFC, and Gombak United in the late 90s to mid-2000s, Adi is the Lion City Sailors resident video analyst. With his vast experience in football – which includes more than a decade as a goalkeeping coach – Adi is crucial in cataloguing and analysing footage of our games, as well as that of our opponents.

Noh

After an illustrious 20-year playing career which saw him win numerous domestic and international trophies, former Singapore captain Noh Rahman finally hung up his boots at the end of 2016 and ventured into coaching. Known for his professionalism and work ethic, Noh is naturally regarded as a role model for the Lion City Sailors players. As Assistant Coach of the Sailors, Noh works closely with the Head Coach – both on and off the pitch – to plot the Sailors’ course to success.
